The point of intercession is not persuasion but permission. So often we view our prayers as feeble efforts to move a big God, and we despair at the thought. Yes, God is big, but His isn't disinterested. He abounds in kindness and mercy toward us. "The Lord is good to all, and his tender mercies are over all his works" Psalm 145:9. He longs to do good.
Imagine a dam which impounds millions of gallons of water. That water represents God's goodwill and mercies which He is eager to wash over us. Our prayers open a gateway in the dam so that the blessings God desires to give can actually gush out upon those that we pray for. Let us keep praying!

You don't know me...my best friend came across your blog and forwarded it to me. She is 23 weeks pregnant and my husband and I are in the process of adopting a baby who's around 21 weeks in his mama's womb.
I can't imagine how scary this must be for your family. I am currently full of faith as I have seen God move mountains in our adoption story. I will continue to follow your journey and stand in the gap for you...praying that little Edward will make a full recovery - beyond what you could ever imagine.
